RECYCLING

We have strong internal programs in our operations that create a large volume of recyclables each day. By recycling these materials, we are providing a positive impact on the Earth and the environment. Our recycling program includes materials such as film, product waste, paper, plastics, corrugate, water and shells.

We source cardboard exclusively from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainability Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified corrugate manufacturers.

We are continually seeking new avenues to recycle additional materials.

Pecan shells from our Selma, TX shelling facility are burned in a biomass boiler to generate steam heat for processing.

Walnut shells from our Gustine, CA shelling facility are used at dairy farms for animal bedding. When the bedding is soiled it is then mixed with other materials and composted.

Food not suitable for human consumption is “recycled” in our Fisher Retail store and sold to customers as wildlife food for animals.
